Beach holidays in Bibione

Bibione is a popular beach resort near Venice that is surprisingly well-maintained given how large it is. It has received 23 Blue Flags, has a dog-friendly section and recently began a no-smoking initiative between the first row of umbrellas and the sea to provide further options for visitors.

The beach offers opportunities for all kinds of activities, with more than 15 sports available, including volleyball and tennis, as well as sailing offshore. Spas are on hand for a more relaxing experience, too, with families able to visit the nearby Aquasplash park.

There are other things to see and do in Bibione. The Pine Forest Lido at the entrance to Bibione is a wonderfully unspoilt part of the region that features plenty of pine trees and fauna, and is home to a disused lighthouse. There’s lots of scope for hiking here.

Elsewhere, Lido del Sole is a quieter part of the beach perfect for families. A pine forest and other green areas are also located close by to provide options for walks. Entertainment in the form of restaurants and other nightlife is also plentiful.

If you want to go on an excursion to a nearby location, one idea is to visit the Valgrande and Vallesina fishing valleys for some scenic walks. Roman artefacts and the remains of villas have previously been found in the area.

The nearby Porto Baseleghe is also worth a visit by boat. Situated on the eastern bank of the Lovi Canal, the destination has a large dock and plenty of water sports facilities. Venice, Trieste and Verona are all easy to get to for a day of sightseeing.
