Beach holidays in Mare di Roma

Mare di Roma is the stretch of coast by the city of Rome, with Ostia Lido (also known as Lido di Roma or Lido di Ostia) being the main point of interest here thanks to its beaches.

Established in the 19th century, Ostia has fast become a popular tourist resort, and this is reflected in the number of resorts and hotels in the area. The construction of Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport has also helped boost visitor numbers.

The beaches in Mare di Roma include Santa Marinella beach and Sperlonga beach, with a number of activities available, including beach volleyball, tennis, football and more.

As you might expect, there are plenty of other things to do in and around Rome. Zoomarine is a 40-hectare amusement, wildlife and educational park that families should visit and is located around 20 km south of the city. Rainbow MagicLand is another theme park in the area to consider.

If you’ve never been to Rome before, top attractions include the Pantheon, the Colosseum, St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, among others. Rome also has countless options for food and drink, and events that are held all year round.
